Here are a few answers from our new members:
Chris Letta:
I joined the Knights last summer having been away from participating regularly in a ministry for several years. It has been a very positive experience. My brother knights were very welcoming and ensured that I could adapt my schedule to participate when ever I was able. Since then I’ve helped raise money for children with disabilities, attended the Annual Golf Fundraiser at Flanders Valley, helped lead a Candlelight Rosary Walk, and attended one of the monthly Holy Hours in which the Knights lead the group in reciting the Rosary. All of these experiences gave me the gifts of fellowship and community which I had lost in the wilderness of the Covid years. Our parish has many blessings, but among its most powerful are the many men in this group who provide such great examples of what it means to be a disciple of Christ.
John Logan:
The reason I joined the Knights of Columbus at St. Virgil’s was simply because I was asked to do so. I watched an old comedy years ago that starred Jim Carey called Yes Man, the premise was to say yes to every opportunity that presented itself because it makes life more interesting.
The Knights of Columbus have a long history of helping on so many levels, and I try and live in a way that is helpful to others. When I met the brother knights, I was impressed by their humility and same spirit of giving in both time and talent.
I’ve only been a part of this for a few months but it really is an impressive group doing impressive work and I look forward to seeing what the future brings.
Gary Richenaker:
I have been involved in various ministries at St Virgil throughout the years and by joining the Knights I wanted to continue to support our parish, give back to our community, and help enrich my Catholic fellowship. The Knights of Columbus are dedicated to works of mercy, charity, fellowship, and service through volunteerism. By working with men of similar beliefs and values, it strengthens my faith, as well as provides benefits to local charities.
